Peyton Elizabeth Meadows
Born May 10th at 9:22am.
We couldn’t be more in love.
Maternity JeansI know I already mentioned the Half and full panel maternity pants. Both these pairs are from Old Navy.
Sheer Open Cardigan I loved having this cardigan to throw over short sleeved tops. I liked that it was light weight and in a neutral color. Additionally. I appreciated the loose, boxy fit. Typically I am drawn to sweaters with more “layers” in the front to give them some interest. However, with my large belly I could not pull off that style anymore.
Basil Printblock Ballet Flats These flats have seriously been my jam lately. They are super comfy and are so easy to throw on with everything.
Printed Tops I seriously love this top so much. It’s nice to have some looser fitting, printed tops in your arsenal. I enjoy that this top is made of a silky material instead of cotton. It makes for a nice chase when I want to feel slightly more dressed up.
Scarves so I have been pairing scarves with my solid tees like its my job. I am obsessed with scarves. Also I have read a lot about how great they are as nursing covers once baby is born. Who doesn’t love something that can play double duty! I don’t have these four scarves but I am lusting after them- Mother’s Day is coming up, I qualify for that now, right?!
Since stylish maternity clothing can be so hard to find I have had the best luck at purchasing non-maternity pieces (except for jeans, obviously). I get most tees from Target (let’s be honest, I get most everything from Target). But, I have had great luck with Old Navy and Loft as well. Loft has had great pieces that are looser fitting, as well as ones with a bubble/draw-string bottom. This has been supremely helpful for an ever expanding belly.
I am not usually a big believer in push presents, however I will say I think it’s a fun idea. While I don’t believe I need some expensive gift for carrying our child, I enjoy that someone thought it was worthwhile to reward moms who have, let’s be honest, not been exactly comfortable for 9 months.
I have put together a list of some push presents I would love to have.
How cute are these bangles? I love that these could be personalized with the baby’s initial or name.
J Crew Necklace
And oh yes, this is from the J Crew Factory. Gotta mix up the price points people. I love all of J Crew’s fun jewelry. I think one can never, ever, have too many statement necklaces.
Flowers are always a good choice for your lady. Have you guys heard of Victory Blooms? I found her on Instagram and cannot get over how insanely talented she is. I would die if she was my local florist- her creations are that amazing. Seriously check her out @victoryblooms!
I have wanted a good DSLR for so long. However, I still can’t decide which one so I keep putting it off. Cannon or Nikon- who can choose?!
Louis Vuitton Artsy
It’s ok to have a dream purchase on your wish list amiright?!
Stackable Diamond Rings
I love vintage diamond rings. My mom has a few bands that are just gorgeous. Over the years I would love to create an interesting stack. Maybe even with some mixed metals- rose gold would be very cool.
And people, just because this is a list of “push presents” doesn’t mean you can’t use it for Mother’s Day. That is right around the corner!
Did you get a push prezzie when you gave birth? If you did what was it- if not what would you ask for?
Morning sickness: Negative- but night sickness around 10-11pm, oh yea.
Showing yet? I just look at Brian and constantly say “big, big, big.” That is how I feel. Also I am short of breath a lot of times, especially when I am conquering the three sets of stairs in our townhouse. Honestly though, I’m glad we have so many stairs because I feel like it is forcing me to keep moving.
Food: I love food and am constantly eating. Dinner and then two bowls of cereal an hour later? Yes, that’s me. I picked up several types of granola bars at the grocery yesterday because I am always hungry.
Movement? She is constantly moving. I have been reading that movement decreases at this point because they are so big there isn’t enough room however, that is NOT the case with Peyton. I will mention that this week has been way more uncomfortable. This weekend she was either smashing my bladder which hurt and made me feel like I had to constantly pee, or shoved up against my cervix. My doctor described this sensation as “someone stabbing my vagina with a knife” TMI? Sorry, it’s factual. Basically I have started being uncomfortable. Hopefully it will pass, I don’t like complaining about it.
Sleep: Sleep has been going really well. Surprisingly I have not had to wake up as much in the middle of the night to pee. Also, I have just slept better in general. It has been pretty nice. Oh, and yes, I am still loving the snoogle.
Any other symptoms: The belly button is still an innie- but barely. The top wants to come out I think. I hope it just stays in there.
Concerns? I am starting to get a little nervous about labor. Not the actual labor part, more so about being afraid if I have to have a c section and of tearing. So I have been trying to read lots of positive birth stories and keep happy thoughts.
Exciting things this week: We finished out registry shopping this weekend! It was so much fun to finish it with Brian. I have been picking stuff up all along on my own and it’s just nice that he got to be there for the bulk of the purchasing. Lets be honest, spending money is fun! In addition, yesterday I ordered a monogram from Etsy to go above the crib. I cannot wait to get it and paint it. Ideally, I will be able to finish up the majority of the nursery this week. All that’s left is hanging stuff on the walls and some organization.
